Hostal Arboleda, Colonial Zone, Santo Domingo

Isabel is a wonderful host and does all she can to make you feel comfortable.

I chose a clean, air-conditioned room in a secure building, and it was very quiet at night. The place sits right in the Colonial Zone, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and a few museums. Everyone was so welcoming and warm. Thanks to Angela and her family for looking after me so kindly during my week there. I appreciated the hospitality, service, and how available they were. See you again! 😉

The owner was quick to answer my emails and provided great service. The location also works well, close to El Conde Street and about 600 m from Colón Park. My one suggestion is to improve the shower: the temperature changed a lot while I was using it, and there was a musty odor. Maybe an air freshener would help. Even with that, I think it’s a good choice.

The area felt safe and fairly quiet, with Calle Conde, a busy tourist street, just steps away. We only needed an Uber for the airport. Larisa, our housekeeper, was wonderful and made a real difference to our stay. The place was clean and had air conditioning and a TV. Since it was rainy season, we did have a few brief power cuts, and the shower water was cold. Those were minor inconveniences.
