I got what I needed for a couple of nights: check-in was easy, the room was clean, and the location was good for getting around the city. Nothing to complain about.

We arrived to find out they didn't have the room we'd reserved through AirBnB. A tropical storm was hitting Santo Domingo that day, so we felt we had to accept what they offered: Anabella Colonial, which they said belonged to the same group. It turned out to be a much older, worse place than the one advertised, without hot water or common living spaces, among several other issues. If you've booked at "Guarocuya" in the Colonial Zone, be careful: they may send you to this major downgrade. It was our worst experience in Dominican Republic, and we'd already had plenty of bad ones there.

The front desk guy was incredibly kind and helpful. The place is close to the colonial zone, and it had hot water and air conditioning.

Just a basic, average place for a night or two. Nothing more to say.

It's a good-looking place, and it's nice.
