What I’ll remember most is the birthday surprise. Someone knocked on my door with a beautiful strawberry cheesecake, a candle, and “Happy Birthday” written in Spanish in chocolate. Being recognized so thoughtfully brought tears to my eyes, and it’s a moment I’ll always cherish. The 18th-floor view was breathtaking. I loved seeing both sunrise and sunset from my room. Housekeeping kept it spotless and comfortable, room service was efficient, and my dry cleaning and laundry came back promptly in perfect condition. The pool bar and restaurant teams were friendly and professional. From the bellman’s warm greeting to the attentive front desk, the care was there throughout my stay at the InterContinental Hotel. They really know hospitality, and I’d gladly stay again.

I spent over 3 months at this IHG hotel in Santo Domingo, and its consistently great service made it one of the best city hotels I’ve stayed at. For someone who travels sometimes, that says a lot. The marble floors and high-tech amenities are nice, but a hotel is really its people. The team here stayed great even when it was busy and stressful. Thank you to the GM Sebastian, Gabriela, Angelika, Melvin, Ariel, Juan Carlos, Diane the receptionist, Sergio, the doormen, and the spa receptionists. I’m sure I’m missing some names, pardon me. They made my Dominican Republic experience lovely. Muchas gracias!

The place smells so good, the food is great, the rooms are amazing, and the service is fantastic. Try the bathtubs, they’re big enough for a basketball player. Great restaurants and an amazing spa, too. The location is phenomenal. A must visit, and great for a staycation.

The pool was supposed to be a quiet place to relax, but it turned into a disco, with a DJ blasting music at high volume. I asked if they could turn it down a bit. The bar staff and DJ rolled their eyes, lowered it for a minute, then turned it right back up. The room windows don’t open, so there’s no way to get fresh air inside.

This hotel feels like a beautiful story built around love and timelessness. I’ve stayed at many Intercontinental’s, and this one left me excited by the experience. I haven’t felt this enthusiastic about a hotel in years. The name lived up to the memories, and I’m looking forward to another stay.
