The biggest drawbacks were the noise and the dated accommodation. Sunday evening and night were especially loud, though the next night was a little better. Breakfast was adequate but limited, and it was served on a terrace on the top floor. The historic quarter of Santo Domingo is easy to explore from here, with the main sights within walking distance. Parking is on the street, and finding a space nearby may be difficult. The stairs are narrow and steep, and there's no lift, so this wouldn't suit someone with mobility issues.

The rooftop terrace was especially nice in the evening, and the location is excellent. Breakfast was tasty and enough, though nothing special. Unfortunately, the hotel seems very poorly organized. Our reservation was for a more luxurious room, but we were given what was probably the smallest room in the hotel, and it looked nothing like the photos. We also couldn't pay by card, even though the reservation said we could. At checkout, they tried to charge us for two minibar bottles of water that we hadn't drunk. There hadn't been any water in the minibar when we arrived, only three cans of beer. The man at reception insisted that we pay, so we had to repeat that we hadn't taken anything because there were no water bottles there.

The location and decor are the only things I liked. Check-in took ages because they didn't have a card reader. The balcony door was broken and wouldn't close, so it was noisy every night. The shower's hot water lasted about a minute, then went cold at random, and the pressure stayed bad for another five minutes. I don't recommend it.

The staff were wonderful, and breakfast was great. They served it on the rooftop terrace, with made-to-order omelets, fresh fruit, coffee, toast, and more. The rooms are small, with a double bed, but very comfortable. My only issue was that there was no bathroom door, which was a first for me!
