Hotel Las Palmeras

The staff were great, especially Obi, the manager, who was lovely. Cleaning staff came every day, and I felt safe with the cameras and an attentive guard checking people coming and going. I didn't have a noise problem or feel bothered. Still, be aware of the setting: the hotel is right at the start of the Red Light district, which is basically all of central Sosua. The supermarket and beach are nearby. It's a "guest friendly" hotel, so in the evening you may see guests taking local girls to their rooms, or girls staying around the hotel.

The wings and waffles were great, and the place is well located near the buses.

I love this hotel. Obie, the owner, is excellent, friendly, and really accommodating, and the rest of the staff are excellent too. The restaurant downstairs has changed hands a few times over the years, but the new owners seem to be getting it right and the food is pretty good. A great place for single people to stay.

Good value for the money, right in the middle of the action. It can be a bit noisier at night than other hotels, but there's a restaurant and bar on site, a pool, and everything else is within walking distance.
