The Diamond Suites At Ahnvee

My stay was terrible, though I unfortunately forgot to take photos to back up my comments. Taxis were easy to find, there’s a club on site, and the beach is a 7-10 minute cab ride away. But the facility and rooms are deteriorated, with amenities that weren’t clean or functional. My room had no hot water for a shower, and when I arrived there were no washcloths or soap. Wifi only worked in the lobby, not in the rooms or elsewhere at the resort. I ordered bland pasta and chicken wings. The rooms cost too much compared with cleaner, cheaper hotels and resorts. I’d avoid this place at any price.

The ladies boxing match we were invited to was one of the highlights of our visit. Go VIP, definitely. The Manager had excellent cigars and sold me a mild one that I really enjoyed. We had a great time, and the place was secure, friendly, neat, and clean. Thanks for the experience, we’ll be back.

I booked four nights starting 11/23/23, but when I got there the hotel was abandoned, with no sign, and looked like it hadn’t been used in ages. Priceline let me book and pay even though the hotel was closed. A week has passed and I still haven’t been refunded. The lobby and outside look nothing like the online photos, which show a newly built hotel. This place looks condemned. Never book anywhere in DR without talking to someone who stayed there in the past 60 days. False advertising is rampant in this country.

This was my second visit, a couple of weeks ago, and the place has turned into a dump. They no longer take credit cards. My wifi didn’t work at all during my four days there. Staff checked a couple of times and agreed there was a problem, but couldn’t fix it. The bigger concern is theft by the cleaning staff. My friend and I both had perfume stolen, and my friend also lost his apple ear buds from the room. It’s an expensive dump, and I won’t be back.
