I’ve stayed in more than 50 hostels around the world, and this is the best one I’ve visited. Marco and his family made me feel welcome, and Marco was relaxed, friendly, and always ready to help. The place is spotless and impressive, with a lovely atmosphere. I felt comfortable and slept well, and I hope to come back. Thank you, Marco and family!

The breakfast was lovely, and the staff were really nice. They suggested a restaurant and a local hike. We also tried an Italian restaurant, which I’d recommend. There wasn’t a bus back from Nizag after our hike, so we hitchhiked, and it was easy. Our room was clean, cozy, and modern, though it was up a couple of flights of stairs. There are larger rooms too. The shower room was spacious, but a gap under the door left the floor pretty wet. We came by bus from Banos. It may drop you in town, or it may leave you on the highway, which means a 25-minute walk downhill to the hostal. I’d stay here again.

A relaxed spot with friendly staff and a nice location. The decor is lovely and the place feels modern, and it wasn’t too busy when I visited. The locker hole was too small for my lock, but I nearly had the dorm to myself, so it wasn’t a problem.

The owner kindly explained how to do the hike to nariz de diablo, which was a great experience with marvelous views. The famous train wasn’t running, but Alausi was still charming. The place itself was quiet and clean, and they made a tasty breakfast for a great price.

Marco, the owner, is a gem. The staff were excellent, the room was comfortable, and the shower was good.
