The hotel is close to lots of shops, restaurants, and local attractions, which was the best part for us. I liked the building’s look, and the breakfast was decent, though there weren’t many options. The ladies running it did a good job. Our room felt dated and crowded, with an odd layout and little space to move around. There were stains on the sheets that we chose to ignore. Front desk staff were hit or miss. Maybe it was the language barrier, but they didn’t greet us when we passed unless we spoke first.

It’s okay if you just need somewhere comfortable to sleep, but the nights were really noisy. People came in and talked loudly in the little salons with music playing until 3:35 am. Breakfast was terrible too. The fruit wasn’t fresh, which is disappointing in Ecuador with all its variety of fruits and vegetables, and what was there hardly tasted good.

The beds were comfortable, but the staff were unfriendly and the price felt high for the quality, $220 for four nights. At check-in they never mentioned an extra fee, and told us we wouldn’t have to pay anything else. I asked twice, yet they later tried to charge me another $20 per night because there were three of us. Breakfast hours were very limited, from 7 to 9:45 am. I would never come back.

Good value at a low price, with a good breakfast and very helpful, friendly staff. Ask for room 107.
