There’s a pleasant terrace full of lush plants, plus a fully equipped kitchen, a place to wash clothes, and strong Wi-Fi. My room, the bathroom, and the shared spaces were all very clean. The owner and staff were friendly, and the hotel itself was wonderful. I’d highly recommend it, especially since many other hotels are quite run down.

There’s a beautiful four-block city park just one block away, with food, groceries, and anything you might need to add to your stay. The room, office, and rooftop garden were clean and well cared for, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The 24-hour front desk and security arrangements were reassuring, and the Kingdom Hall next door makes for excellent neighbors. We’ll definitely return when we’re in Guayaquil.

The price is reasonable, and the hotel is about two blocks from 9 de octubre boulevard. We stayed in a spacious, clean room on the top floor. They’ve done a great job renovating many of the rooms, with nice finishing touches like the paint and decorative designs on the walls and ceilings.

The room and bathroom were clean, and there was enough space to organize my things. The terrace is lovely, and the place is near the Malecon. They also sell beer. The staff were kind and explained everything clearly. It was great. :)

We stayed three days in total, two before our Galapagos trip and one afterward. Before the flight, we had some laundry done, but a few things were still wet the next morning. We asked whether there was a dryer, and the front desk told us we could leave the clothes hanging on the terrace. He said he or one of the maids would take them down the next day and put them with our luggage, and he sounded convincing that they’d be safe there. He was even the one who showed us where to wash and dry our things. When we got back from Galapagos, our clothes were gone. The front desk then claimed we’d never told him anything and acted as if he didn’t know tourists could hang clothes outside. We spoke with the owner, two front desk staff, and the maids. None said they’d even seen our clothes hanging there, and nobody apologized, including the owner or Jose at the front desk. That experience made it seem like they’d promise anything to get us out of their way without intending to follow through. We felt they’d made fools of us. The hostal was already much too expensive, and there are nicer ones just a few blocks away where guests are treated with respect. Please stay somewhere else. Maybe we wouldn’t have cared as much, but three of our most expensive items were missing: two Smartwool Merino long-sleeve sweaters, which are really expensive, and my wife’s nicest Calvin Klein leggings. They were worth about $300 in total.
