Hotel Elite Internacional

Liliana the manager was really helpful to me and my lady friend, and that personal touch is why I give Elite five stars. It's a simple place, kept in good shape, with nice staff and a great price. The location is handy too, near the Malecón and lots of shops. The Wifi worked well, though I wish it reached the balcony of my room.

The rooms with balconies don't get the WiFi signal, unfortunately. Everywhere else the WiFi is very fast, around 10 MBit upload and over 15 MBit download. It's a clean, inexpensive hotel with friendly staff, though nothing fancy.

The staff are attentive and provide excellent service, and the hotel is near the center and boardwalk. It might help to have someone who speaks English for guests who don't speak Spanish. Aside from that, the attention was excellent.

The owner and staff were courteous, professional, and very helpful, including with bus routes and getting to the airport. A taxi there cost $5. For one person, my room was $25, while motels near the airport charge $60-70. It has a vintage motel feel, like stepping back into the 1920's. The hotel is near the famous river walk in Gyaquill and the tram that crosses the river, which costs 35 cents one way or 70 cents round trip. The riverwalk has McDonald's, KFC and other restaurants. There's also an Iguana park nearby, and you can see the famous mast ship of Ecudore, still sea worthy and operating as part of the Ecuadorian navy.
