Hostal Costa Verde

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, and there are excellent restaurants within walking distance. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Even though I don’t speak Spanish, they were patient and accommodating. I’d stay here again without hesitation.

We were only here for one night with the family, but the experience was very good. The location is great, with restaurants and bars just around the corner. The rooms were clean and had air conditioning, a TV, and nice bathrooms. Breakfast and parking were good too. The staff were kind, ready to help, and offered recommendations for things to do. Mario, the friendly manager, picked me up at the airport and was very responsive when we communicated. Service was great during my two nights at Costa Verde. My room was spacious, clean, had AC and a TV, and was maintained daily. It’s within walking distance of the malecón and the big mall. Breakfast was decent, though I’m vegan and can’t really judge it fairly, and it was served on a nice back terrace. There’s no shared sitting area, so the atmosphere doesn’t feel especially warm. Still, it’s a nice spot for a couple of days.

We were disappointed because we liked much of the hostel, but several things left it feeling dubious. The room was big, clean, and had everything we needed, and breakfast was good. But the air in both the room and bathroom was really bad, and we couldn’t find a way to open the window. When we were leaving, the two guys there didn’t speak any English at all and made no effort to understand us. There was no luggage room. When we came back for our bags, we tried to use the toilet, but they took ages because they had to call someone to check whether it was okay. In the end, they didn’t even have a public bathroom we could use. The taxi they called wasn’t an official one, so it cost more.
