The host family made us feel so welcome, and the food was fantastic. Ask for a traditional local plate if you plan to eat there. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well built. Hostel Oleaje sits between the ocean and a tidal river, with a peaceful feel that makes it easy to relax. There are waves to swim or surf every day, and for something more adventurous, you can fish for snook and snapper with live shrimp in the mangroves. Thanks for a great stay.

We left after just one night. The room itself was really cozy and nice, but we couldn't get breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There were only a few guests, and the manager didn't want to arrange food because it wasn't worth it. It felt like customers were just an inconvenience to her.

It's quiet here, since the place is about 300 m from the centre and away from the party noise. The room was spacious and had a freezer and kitchen, though the chairs weren't very comfortable. The Wi-Fi was okay, and I'd recommend staying here overall. Bring enough cash. Payment is cash only, and although the only ATM in Mompiche had a Maestro sign, it wouldn't take foreign debit or credit cards. Going by bus to another ATM takes around 3-4 hours round trip, and there's no guarantee that one will work either.
