Hostal North Seymour

Free drinking water to refill, tea and coffee, and good hot water were all nice to have. It's close to town, too. But the Wi-Fi barely worked, dropping in and out constantly. A local restaurant had better Wi-Fi. The rooms are small, and you can hear everything outside because the top window has mesh but no glass and the walls are paper thin. People came and went noisily at all hours, so my sleep kept getting interrupted. I didn't get a single good night's sleep.

Breakfast was good, and the bedroom was a good size. We stayed on the 1st floor facing the street, but it wasn't noisy. The location is handy, within walking distance of the main attractions and close to the start of the Tortuga Bay trail. The bathroom vanity needs urgent replacement. It was swollen and smelled mouldy.

The receptionist was great, and I booked the room through Airbnb. The bed was comfortable and the location worked well for me, though the room felt a bit small. The hot water was properly hot, which is nice if you like a really hot shower. Wi-Fi was weak: texts and FB or IG messages went through, but I couldn't send photos or videos.

You can get coffee at reception, and the room was cleaned adequately, though not especially well. The place is very handy for getting around, with the local bus stop nearby, boats to the other islands within walking distance, and restaurants and the market close by.
