We booked a single room and got upgraded to an apartment. There was plenty of hot water, a wood-burning fireplace with logs supplied every day, and eggs cooked to order. Breakfast also included fresh bread, fruit, juice, and a coffee pot we could use. There’s inexpensive street food just around the corner from the square. La Floresta, or the forest, is a safe and pleasant neighborhood with lots of five-star restaurants. It’s within walking distance of the historic district, about an hour uphill, and ten minutes from La Mariscal. I’d stay here again if I return to Quito.

The courtyard inside is beautiful, and breakfast is really generous. The apartments are clean and well-equipped, with very comfortable beds. The owner is such a warm-hearted woman and always ready to find a solution. Laundry was super fast, too, and we even went to yoga right beside the hotel.
