Monica made it feel like staying at my mom’s house. She can arrange cooked meals and laundry for reasonable prices, and there are jokes and good company for free. Ecuadorians are so funny! The place has an old-fashioned charm and is safe and cheap, right by the Basilica on Venezuela street. Plaza grande and plaza foche are both about a 15-minute walk away, or a cab costs 1 or 2 dollars. There are plenty of little shops and places to grab food nearby, and you can find just about anything on Venezuela for very little. The party bus that tours on weekends passes this way too, so it’s a good fit if partying is what you’re after.
