Dominic knows the area well and was very helpful. Transport, dinner, and laundry were all reasonably priced. We’ve stayed here twice on our Ecuador trip already and expect to stay another two times while passing through Quito. The hotel is close to the airport, which makes coming and going from Quito convenient. It has a clean, minimalist look and feels relaxing. You can see Quito in the distance, the city lights are beautiful at night, and the sunsets are pretty too. Lots of animals around the grounds. I’d happily recommend it to anyone.

Joz and Diego were especially wonderful, making sure we had everything we needed and more. Every staff member we met was incredible, and the place itself is charming. Our Room with a View was spacious, clean, and really comfortable. The fridge had breakfast items, with fresh fruit available, and they could bring breakfast up to the room if we wanted. If stairs are a problem, ask for a first-floor room. It’s centrally located, and they can arrange a taxi wherever you need to go. I travel a lot, and this was one of the most memorable, delightful places I’ve stayed. I’d recommend it without hesitation. Thank you Old Town Suites!!!

Not happy at all. They expected me to settle for a lower-priced room and be content, as if I owed them something. There was no mention of a refund for the mistake, the price difference, or even an apology for the long delay after they’d promised to accept my date change. From 9am to 10pm is a very long time. They blamed a system malfunction, saying someone else had already booked the dates, and even suggested it might have been someone travelling with me, which was strange. No one was. The top suite, the most expensive room, was still available for 2-3 June at 9:00 am. If someone else really did book it, it seems very unlikely they did so in the four minutes between 8:56 and 9:00am. Instead of acting quickly to prevent a double booking, they let the whole day go by and came up with absurd justifications, without an apology or a discount that would make for a workable solution. This is probably the worst customer service I’ve ever had at a hotel. Their administration and timekeeping need review and improvement. I’d booked the top suite with an in-room jacuzzi on Booking.com for the wrong month, July “Jul” instead of June “Jun”, literally one letter difference. I noticed as soon as the confirmation email arrived, less than a minute after booking, and contacted the property immediately at 8:56am. They replied right away, telling me to send a date change request and saying they’d accept it. I sent it at 9:00am, and they said everything was fine. But at 5pm, the request was still open and the reservation still showed July instead of June. I messaged to check whether they’d done their part and the system just needed to update. At 10pm, they finally replied that the room had been booked during the day and only a lower option was left.

We’ve had good experiences every time, and have used them for years. They’re personal and accommodating, and have made coming into and leaving Quito so easy. If they have availability, this is our first choice. They help arrange transportation, and communicating in English over WhatsApp has always been easy. The main property is awesome, with a fantastic breakfast of fresh fruit, eggs, and really good coffee. The llamas and rabbits on site are super fun too. A good choice.
