Our room faced the road by a large market, and the noise was awful. Cars honked every ten seconds or so, with loud music and other sounds until midnight, then again from 5 am. Even with earplugs, we slept very badly. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, there was no hot water, and there was no toilet paper. We were also charged $2 more than the Booking price, plus another $5 to leave our backpacks for two days. No one had charged us for that in Ecuador before. There are many better places for the same price, closer to the center.

Our room was comfortable and had the basics, but after a while we noticed a tobacco smell. The sheets smelled too, so we asked to have them changed, and they did. The bathroom still smelled of tobacco, though opening the windows helped. I wasn’t keen on the location either, since it’s across from a market.
