The lake-view sauna was a highlight, and I liked the bird pictures in the rooms and hallways. The spa itself is pleasant, though small for a hotel this size, so I imagine it gets crowded in peak season. The location is lovely, by the castle, promenade, and lake, with plenty of birds and a peaceful atmosphere. Our room was plain but clean, and the air conditioning worked well. The shower felt cramped even for an average-sized person, and there was no fridge.

We had a lovely walk around the grounds just before sunset, and the lagoon view made breakfast even better. The rooms were fine and we had a really good stay. The spa was great, though the so-called quiet spa wasn't very quiet when we visited. It would help if guests were reminded to respect that.

I had a really great stay. The place looks especially beautiful from a room on the sea side. The spa is small, but it has everything: a hot steam room, Finnish sauna, long pool, and a cafe right by the swimming area.

The rooms were clean, though very small, and you can open the windows. Parking is free, but there’s no surveillance. Breakfast had an amazing range of options, and the price also included the spa, sauna, and a Haapsalu mud face treatment. The city is interesting and fine for a one-day trip.

Take the 2 km walk around the lake by the hotel if you get the chance. There are lovely views and places to swim, and it’s a special area. We really enjoyed staying at the Hestia Hotel in Haapsalu, right beside a small lake on the peninsula, with spectacular views from our suite. The spacious room worked well for four, with a separate bedroom, living area with a fold-out bed, and jacuzzi bath. The hotel feels a little dated: there were no sockets by the bed or USB charging points. Staff were friendly, and the spa had plenty of saunas, a good pool, a mud experience, steam sauna, hot pools, and a cold plunge.
