Kassari Puhkekeskus

We spent three nights here on our Estonia holiday. It was quiet, very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The rooms have air conditioning. In summer, breakfast is a buffet from 8:00, including fish delicacies. Dinner has a short but varied menu, and they also serve beer brewed in-house.

We were greeted so warmly by Jan, the nicest man on the island. The food was delicious, and he even sent us off with a bottle of cider made there. We were cycling, so we camped at Jan’s campsite up the road too. It was well equipped. Would recommend!

After a long day working at sea on an autumn expedition, those beautiful Hiiumaa views and the cosy place to come back to were such a treat. I relaxed in the clean sauna with a few bears, had a nice breakfast, and really enjoyed my stay. I only wished there had been porridge or yoghurt on the morning menu. I liked the place and would certainly visit again someday.

The rooms are large and comfortable, the building seems fairly new, and there’s a self-service laundry with a dryer. It’s also close to the coast. Still, it felt a bit overpriced and remote, and the sauna costs an extra 25€ an hour. The huge parking lot takes the place of a garden, which was disappointing. Maybe it isn’t necessary to have a garden, but concrete instead was a letdown. The website photos are pure marketing, so your experience may differ. You can also hear the neighbours quite clearly.
