The host lady was welcoming and lovely. It’s a quiet, nature-focused place, with a private beach and swimming spot on Lake Peipsi just steps from the yard. The family-friendly rooms are very clean and comfortable, and there’s a fully equipped kitchen inside as well as one outside by the grill.

The big garden and playground were a hit with the kids, and at the end of the garden there’s a sort of private beach on Lake Peipsi. You can park in the garden, with room for several cars, and we used the laundry twice. The bedroom was functional and the house was well arranged. The door creaks, which isn’t great when several people are sleeping in the room, but it’s a small issue. Other guests were considerate, though there weren’t many around. We had a family room with space for four kids and their parents, plus a table. Nearby there’s a small kitchenette shared with another bedroom and two shared restrooms, so it was comfortable. The owner speaks Russian and a little English; her daughter, who was there for seven weeks in summer, speaks fluently and was helpful. The reception was very friendly, and we got useful tips in our first conversation. A few practical things: cash only, WiFi was fine, and you can reach a grocery store in Kallaste by car or bike. We missed having a toaster and a Bodum for breakfast.

The view east toward the lake is amazing, and you can take a walk down to it. The owners are very nice, and the place feels cozy and clean, with a lovely atmosphere 🥰.
