Repo Hotel

The hotel was really nice, and the old town is close by.

It was okay.

On May 21, 2025, we arrived to find the hotel wasn't open for the season, even though we'd booked and received confirmation from booking. The host was there, though, and quickly sorted out a room, so credit to him. It was spacious, clean and tidy, with comfortable beds. Breakfast was simple but quite alright given the circumstances.

The breakfast that came with the stay was basic but enough. The building and our tiny room were old, the bathroom small, dated and extremely uncomfortable, and the two broken separate cots were supposed to be beds. There were just a couple of old furniture pieces put together somehow, and the worn old lock on the door gave us no real sense of security. We also found little black bugs in the sheets, like fleas. We would've left if we could, but we'd already paid. Check-in was cold and quite rude. They took a while to find our reservation, then said we'd get the last room available. But we'd booked on Booking.com well in advance, so how was our arrival a surprise? The reception staff spoke very little English, actually none at all. This bad experience put a damper on our short visit to Saaremaa. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but for what we paid in 2023, in a European country, I expected much higher minimum standards. I'm sorry, especially for the woman I think was the hotel owner. She didn't speak any English, but she was the only person who smiled at us during our short stay.
