We found it quiet, clean, and roomy enough for a few days, and it was good value. The location beside a wakepark is great, and it can sleep up to six. There’s a kitchenette, washing machine, shower, sauna, and barbecue gear. One bedroom is a walk-through, though, and without air conditioning two rooms can get stuffy when it’s hot. The bathroom water pipes also smelled awful. That needs attention.

Mirrell was a fantastic hostess, quick to answer questions and generous with local tips. After cycling around, swimming in nearby lakes, or walking in the forest, we loved coming back for a sauna. The Safari house is spotless and well stocked, and it works well for a couple or a group. It’s a lovely home in a beautiful area. We had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend it.

The sauna was a nice feature, and the living room and bedrooms felt as expected for a log cabin. The downstairs floors get cold, so bring slippers. It’s well placed for Munamäe ski resort and the Tehvandi ski trail. The kitchen could use some attention, though: the pans and pots, small fridge, cutting boards, and ladle could be updated, and the door shelves are broken. A dishwasher would help make sure the dishes are properly clean for the next guests.

There was room for all seven of us, two families with four adults and three children. We hadn’t expected much, so the clean, cozy cottage was a lovely surprise. It has a fireplace, porch, and barbecue area, and sits in a quiet spot surrounded by beautiful nature. Otepää is close by, and Tartu is 40 kilometers away.
