Saare Automatic Hostel

The fire alarm beeped a couple of times over a few hours, which was disruptive, especially at night. The phone customer service when we called about it wasn't great, and the rooms weren't very soundproof, though it could have been worse. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean and pleasant to use, and the room was in good shape. It felt like the cleaners knew their job. The place itself was really nice and cozy. Pärnu city center was quite a long way off, but Bolt was a cheap and easy way to get there. There's also a beach by the river just a five-minute walk away for a quick evening swim, haha. We enjoyed our stay at Saare Automatic Hostel and would recommend it to fellow hostel travelers.

The room had no air conditioning, even though we visited in summer and had booked the Saare special room with a private bathroom. The window wouldn't open properly, so we were suffocating at night and couldn't sleep. We left food in the shared kitchen refrigerator and somebody stole it. They say they provide towels, but they're only hand towel size. The hostel is in a very ugly part of Pärnu, among car repair places and trucks, and far from the main beach, which you can only reach by car. I don't recommend this place at all.

Everything was renovated and new, and the staff were always smiling. We were happy with our stay overall. The one thing I didn't like was having a shared bathroom. That's just something I'm not used to, so I'd have given it four stars.

A fast, automatic hostel with small rooms and no breakfast. Good for staying a few nights.
