We stayed in the park lodge, and the room had a pleasant feel and a nice view of the castle. The bathroom has a glass wall that you can cover with curtains. Noise carries, though: at 6 a.m., a child screaming in another room woke us up. The spa has a lovely interior and several saunas, but we wished there was a big swimming pool. There were lots of small children there. A nice extra is that you can climb the castle tower. The lodge connects to the castle, where the spa and restaurant are, through a heated underground passage decorated with historical photos. It's amazing.

The downsides first: there was no sour cream at breakfast, and the spa complex staff we dealt with were rude and didn't want to help. Hotel guests also have nowhere secure to keep their things in the spa. There are boxes, but they don't lock and sit in a shared area in front of the staff desk, so things could be stolen. In summer, the hotel is surrounded by a beautiful, charming park with lots to explore. The castle feels full of history, with atmospheric design details and interesting spots like the tower. You can play billiards, and the restaurant is excellent with friendly staff. The hotel staff were helpful, and our room was beautiful and clean. There are plenty of photo spots, lovely scenery, and views from the windows and balconies.

The spa is beautiful, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. There's lots to wander around and see, and it's easy to lose track of time relaxing in the spa or on the grounds. The rooms are a bit dated, and I understand why other reviews mention a mildew smell, though we didn't spend much time in ours.

I went a week ago with someone special, and it was a great place to relax together. The spa was amazing too. The castle garden had been decorated as a winter wonderland, with lots of lights and figures. Amazing. 🫠

Don't be taken in by the winter wonderland ads. After touring the park, there's nowhere to rest, and even finding a restroom would be a problem. It seems only hotel guests are being considered, even though tickets to the park are for sale. The service was really poor and unwelcoming, so I'd strongly recommend looking at other options.
