There’s a lot of noise from the bar next door, and drunk Finnish people. No wifi.

The location is handy, about a 10-minute walk to Raekoja plats, with Lidl just a minute away. The automatic hotel sent clear instructions for getting into the building and room on time, though they promised parking guidance and never sent it. I’m worried I’ll get a fine tomorrow morning. But the place itself was really unpleasant: horrible sewage smell by the entrance, reception area and corridors, cracks in the walls, stained curtains, mildew on ceiling tiles, broken plates, an electrical hazard in the bathroom, and a shower curtain caked with soap. The walls look very tired and the wallpaper is peeling. There’s no snack vending machine or coffee or hot water dispenser. Zero. C'mon, guys, you could do better!!! If I had the choice, I’d never come here again. Make some changes with the money you’re going to save from salaries of fired people.

The bed was comfortable, the shower good, and the window opened fully. The blind and curtains kept the light out, and wifi worked well. The decor is a little retro, but everything in the room and bathroom was excellent. We had a nice ground-floor room on a quiet street, about a 15-minute walk from the city centre. Reception staff were friendly, and there was always someone there even though you leave your key at reception. Good local cafes and a pizza place are about 10 minutes away on foot. Tartu has a beautiful centre, and the KGB Museum and Art Gallery were interesting.

The hotel was a bit noisy and outdated, though clean and convenient otherwise. Smoke from cigarettes was coming in through the door.
