You can stay on land or in one of the boathouses on the water. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and it’s a simple, unusual spot for a vacation in Estonia.

Even in winter, frozen Lake Peipus and its western shore are well worth a visit. The people hosting at Mesi Tare are lovely and helpful.

For the price, I expected better camping conditions and a more comfortable sauna. There weren’t proper chairs or a table, and the toilet was full of s#%£.
