We spent three days and two nights camping in the Western Desert with a Badry guide and driver. The different landscapes were incredible, from the broad views across the Black Desert to huge rolling dunes and the strange formations of the White Desert. It made a memorable change from the usual pyramids, tombs, and Nile River part of an Egypt trip. The White Desert had been closed for two days after a tourist traveling without a guide was injured the day before we arrived. We were meant to pack up on day three and head back to Cairo, but it reopened, so our guide went well out of the way to take us through before our cab ride back to the city. If you want an experience that stays with you long after the details of Egyptian history have faded, I don’t think you’ll find a better outfit than Badry’s to help.

Our three-day, two-night trip with Badry was amazing. We camped far from anyone else, with only the stars and a desert fox for company. Every place Ahmad showed us in the White Desert was beautiful in its own way, and he was a wonderful guide. His meals were among the best we had in Egypt. I’d absolutely recommend the trip and hope to come back.

Hamid made us feel at home at Badry Sahara Camp. He took care of everything, from the fire and bédouin tea to a delicious breakfast. He’s an amazing person, and the camp itself is beautiful. We were surrounded by lovely scenery the whole time.

We arrived feeling unwell with the usual stomach problems many tourists get, and Badry looked after us like family. He adapted the program to our needs and physical condition, and prepared special food and tea that helped us feel better right away. Badry and his staff have been the best part of our Egypt trip so far. The White Desert drive with Fox was unforgettable, too. Badry Sahara Camp is spotless and authentic, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
