The one good part was the service. They carried my luggage upstairs, gave me a fair exchange rate and brought two bottles of water. The building itself, though, needs major renovation, and there was a really strong, unpleasant smell everywhere. It looked lovely in the Google images, so the actual condition came as a shock. I had to inspect three rooms before finding one that was maybe 10% clean. My final room faced an intersection and had no windows. Street noise and honking were constant, like being right out on the road. I only needed somewhere to rest for 3-4 hours at lunchtime, but that was impossible. On top of it, the toilet leaked and some unidentifiable sludge was coming out. Disgusting. The helpful service doesn't make up for the rest. Completely unacceptable.

I've worked in hotels for years, so I know what decent service should look like. Delta Hotel was one of my worst experiences in Egyptian hotels, even for a single night. I arrived late because of an emergency, and check-in was thankfully easy. But the room had no working AC or TV, no hot water, a broken toilet flush and no phone to call room service. I went back downstairs to get ready for my trip just fifteen minutes after checking in. When I returned that night, they'd prepared another room, but it had no refrigerator and its TV and phone didn't work either. At least the AC worked this time. I spoke politely with the staff from 2 AM onward and asked for the night manager and a refund of the 1500 I paid for the night. They said there'd be no money until morning, and after an hour nothing had been resolved. One worker told me to wait until they could find the money in the morning, then he'd have to discuss it with management after they woke up. The issue wasn't just the money. I expected proper service for what I'd paid. Since I wasn't getting anywhere, I called the tourist police. Their response was quick. A very polite, respectful officer came and worked through the hotel to get my full refund. He even showed me another room, though I was already upset, especially because my wife was with me. I want to thank a man named Ibrahim, who contacted one of the hotel partners. They'd given him incorrect information, and he wanted to clear up a few points. I understood what he meant, and those details weren't important to me. It was late, so after a long, miserable day I went somewhere else to sleep. The hotel's general manager called the next morning to apologize. I appreciated the call, but a real apology would mean proper management, with the people responsible for each shift there when problems happen. That's what makes a place succeed. My advice from this experience is to choose carefully before you go so you don't waste your time. If you stay at any hotel in Egypt and feel your rights have been ignored or you're being taken advantage of, file an official report. The Tourist Police won't let you down, whether you're influential or an ordinary person. Their response impressed me, and it made me feel my rights wouldn't be lost if I ever considered staying at another hotel. Thank you.

Everything about this hotel felt terrible and chaotic. Nobody seemed to know anything, and there were no agreements or clear authority. The management, or lack of it, was awful, the service was terrible, and the restaurant was disgusting. That same restaurant also becomes a bar at night.
