We liked the location, close to the souk and corniche, and the room was spacious with useful amenities like a hair dryer and sewing kit. Most of the staff were helpful. But 2080 EGP went missing from our room during our two-night stay. We had counted out money to pay our driver after getting it from an ATM specifically for that purpose. We left the pile on the bed under a jacket while we went out for breakfast for about half an hour to an hour. We also left a visa card in the room, and it was removed. At checkout, staff told us they’d found it and kindly returned it. That was odd, since our things were still in the room and it was clear we were coming back for them. We cancelled the card, and there were no transactions we hadn’t made. We only realized at the airport, with the driver, that 2080 EGP was missing from the money we’d set aside to pay him. I called the hotel and politely asked whether cash could have been left behind. That didn’t seem very feasible, since we would have noticed if we’d knocked it over. I think someone entered the room and took a portion they thought we wouldn’t notice. We couldn’t reach a satisfactory conclusion with the hotel. I didn’t feel they properly looked into it. They just said someone had entered to remove the visa card, which left me wondering why, and how they knew it was there. This is the only time either of us has had anything go missing from a hotel room, and it was our one unpleasant experience during a week in Egypt.

The location is great and, in general, the hotel is fine, but the breakfast was old and not fresh, and one of the evaluators wasn’t working. The worst part was when the busboy/steward broke one of my things while storing our luggage. I heard it and came back to check. When I asked if he’d broken something, he tried to hide it. I saw my stuff and asked again, and all he said was “oh.” Later, when we got our luggage back, the receptionist asked how our stay had been. The same busboy/steward was there, and even after I explained what happened, he still didn’t apologize. We got no compensation, just one apology from the receptionist. Anyway, enjoy your time at the hotel. Hope your things stay safe.

The rooms were roomy, clean, and really nice, and the staff were friendly. I also liked the little bakery selection at breakfast. There was no WiFi, though, and breakfast didn’t suit us. They had potato puree but no falafel, and just instant coffee packets, while our previous hotel served pots of coffee. The yoghurt was sitting out without ice, and nobody was at the egg station, so my boyfriend had to make his own eggs. I got excited thinking there was soup, but it was just full of beans. Very limited choices for me.

The food surprised us in a good way. The seafood soup, mixed grill, grilled chicken, and fried fish were all excellent, so we didn’t need to search around Aswan for dinner. The rooms are huge, often with a free upgrade facing the Nile, and the staff are warm and try hard, even when their English isn’t fluent. That’s part of the charm. It’s right in the city center, with no boat crossing needed, so getting around and joining tours is easy. The rooms feel a little old and could use renovation, but the space, working AC, location, and hospitality make it worthwhile. I’d absolutely stay again.

The location is great, right by the Nile, shops, and markets, but that also means city noise and the sound of the prayer call. Our room had a Nile view, the bed was comfortable, the place was relatively clean, and there was air conditioning. The shower was tiny and the floor uneven, and street noise carried into the room at night. Breakfast was fine. At the front desk, the staff seemed apathetic and slow. They offered to have someone bring our bags down in the morning, and we said we could do it ourselves. Someone still took them and followed us to the car asking for tips for a service we’d declined. I don’t think this is a four-star hotel.
