It’s a comfortable house with authentic design, plus an open rooftop space to chill and relax. The place is very peaceful. Muhammada is kind, positive, polite, and open to requests or a conversation. His family are friendly too.

We loved this cozy cottage on a quiet, secluded part of the island. The terrace and view are beautiful, and it’s such a relaxing spot near the Nile. The hosts were so welcoming. They let us in late at night and invited us to dinner, and we even went for a boat ride. An unforgettable place. If we come back to Aswan, we’ll definitely stay here again! ☀️💕🌸

The location is excellent and the place itself is beautiful, so this could have been a hidden gem. But the maintenance and hospitality were disappointing. The walls were stained in every room, the kitchen smelled strongly of grease, and there was a bucket of questionable water in the toilet. The sheets and towels were too small and kept in a damp, dirty, disorganized wardrobe. There was a huge gap beneath the bedroom door, so mosquitoes and ants could get in. We were given just one key for six people, even though there was a separate room outside the apartment in an area other people could access. That left us wondering who would hold the key at night, whether we’d be locked in without toilet access, or have to sleep with the bedroom or apartment door open. We expected no soundproofing at this price, but dogs barked all night and the doors were hard to open and close. The hotel name on the front was misspelled, with “cold” instead of “gold” Nubian House. The owner didn’t explain the public ferry and went straight to offering the most expensive option, a private boat. In the morning, he sent a man who didn’t speak English to greet us. When the owner asked what I thought, I answered honestly. The next minute, Booking.com told me he had marked me as never having stayed there, which would prevent me from posting a review on the platform. I’m surprised by all the positive reviews when so little effort seems to go into upkeep or hospitality.
