Queen Nourhan Hotel

An honest, clean hotel in Aswan that's still coming up, with friendly staff. Two expensive mobile phones went missing during the trip, then turned up during room cleaning. I returned a few days later to check, and they had been put in a safe at the desk. Finding them there reminded me to post the review I'd planned, with that added bonus.

For our small budget, this was the best option we could get. The rooms were basic but fine by local standards, clean enough, and not noisy. There was a TV and fridge, and my bed even had a new mattress. The service staff were very friendly.

The reception staff were nice, and they let us leave our luggage early in the morning. It's close to the train station, so for one night it was okay, especially since we'd arrived in Aswan tired and at night. The room wasn't very clean. The shower head didn't work, so we washed our hair using the tub faucet, though there was hot water. The bed was comfortable enough, but internet wasn't free. They gave us just one towel, and when we asked for another, they said it wasn't included. We'd booked a double twin room, so I thought towels for both beds should be included. Cats live at the hotel and roam right on our floor. I love cats, but hotel hygiene should come first. It's a shame, since the place could be really nice if management put more money and effort into renovations and repairs.

For a room with twin beds, I paid 250LE a night even though I was travelling alone, and I don't think it was worth that price. At least there was hot water.
