Barcelo Cairo Pyramids

The hotel was clean and well presented, with friendly staff, good quality meals, and generous portions. The pizza was so big we took half back to our room. Breakfast had a good buffet selection, though it could get busy. The pool was on the small side but clean. Some lifts stop at pool level on one side, while the lifts for the added floors are on the other side of the hotel. The ladies at the beautician were helpful and their prices were very reasonable. Our downstairs restaurant waiter was helpful too. There was some evening noise from locals playing board games. We’d go back.

Tohamy, the receptionist, was the highlight of our visit. He patiently helped us throughout and kindly showed us the way to a nearby pharmacy. The location was ideal for the Giza Pyramids and offered convenient access to Alexandria, and breakfast was delightful. We had a truly wonderful stay in Cairo.

The rooms were pretty big, clean, and fairly modern. There are lots of lifts, plus a little gift shop, barber, and massage place at the back of the lobby. Food was good too, with nice menus and a decent breakfast. They’re building a metro right outside at the moment, so you need to come in from the side road, but it wasn’t too bad. The hotel offers taxis, though we used Uber, which was quick and convenient, and at least 90% cheaper. You can get anywhere for just £2! We visited the new Grand Equiptian museum and really enjoyed how well laid out it was. Yes, I’d stay here again.

The breakfast was good, and the hotel transport was reliable and easy to arrange. Tohamy was especially helpful, and all the staff were friendly. My room was clean and comfortable, and the location made it easy to visit Cairo’s main attractions. I had a pleasant, solid stay at Barceló Cairo and would definitely come back.
