Acacia Dahab Hotel

For the nightly price, the room condition and location aren’t worth it. The linens were dirty, and there’s nowhere to park. Reception told us to leave the car on the street, which is narrow, and our car got scratched overnight while parked in front of the hotel. Breakfast by the sea is nice, but cats were all over the place, trying to jump onto the food, and the workers didn’t seem to care that some people are allergic to cats. It was the same by the pool, where there were too many cats and lots of mosquitoes.

I worked at this hotel for about 10 months without medical or social insurance or an official contract. Management was poor, and the work pressure was constant. I often had to cover reception alone for long stretches. In early August, I told HR and the staff I planned to leave so there would be no excuse about unpaid dues. That month was exhausting: I worked all my overtime, especially during the manager’s 15-day vacation, sometimes doing 16-hour days. My August salary came without the overtime pay. HR said the payroll sheet hadn’t been approved, although before that my overtime had arrived quickly by bank transfer. I decided to leave, but about 10 days later HR called because nobody was at reception. I agreed to return, hoping to get what I was owed, and worked five more days, from September 12 to 16. I still wasn’t paid the August overtime or those five days. HR gave me an official written note promising a bank transfer by September 29, but no payment ever came. Many guests knew me as Kerols or Carlos. This was a very difficult experience, and I want people to understand what happened. I’m not giving up on my rights and have filed an official complaint with all the required documents. This is my personal work experience, shared transparently.

The warm, attentive staff made me feel very welcome at Acacia Dahab Hotel. It’s a charming family-run place on Dahab’s peaceful shore, with lovely sea views, a calm beachfront, and a palm-fringed pool. The authentic décor adds to the relaxed feel. My room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast overlooking the sea was delightful. There’s also a Mediterranean restaurant, a lounge with live music, and a pool. The location feels peaceful while still being close to everything. Highly recommended!

The clean room and good service couldn’t make up for a strange pricing policy. I booked two weeks before arrival, then saw the price drop by 20% a few days later. The receptionist said that was fine and happened all the time. I thought booking early meant getting a better rate, not a worse one, and that policy spoiled the experience.
