I enjoyed wandering around Abu Tig Marina, taking in the different views and stopping at some of its cafes and restaurants. It’s one of the most beautiful and enjoyable places in El Gouna, with plenty to see and do, including shopping.

The marina’s lighting stood out to me: the water reflects a cool glow that brings out the buildings’ geometry and makes the whole area easy to read visually. I also like how little feels out of place. The layout supports both boat and pedestrian activity without clutter, and the straight piers, simple facades, and yacht masts create a precise, almost high-tech pattern. For me, Abu Tig Marina is a carefully controlled urban space where the Red Sea setting meets an ordered architectural grid. Logistics, looks, and function feel remarkably balanced. Compared with more chaotic development, you can sense a deliberate designer’s hand. It suits anyone who values consistency, well-executed details, and visual order.

It’s quiet and peaceful there, maybe even boring. That makes it a good fit for an upscale family break if you’re happy just spending time with your family and don’t need much else going on. The place is beautiful, luxurious, and expensive by Egyptian standards, and the service feels better than at 90% of hotels in Egypt. I get the sense it was designed to attract Europeans.

For a view over the Marina, Pier 88 rooftop is a great spot. Camino has live music from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm, and weekends can get really fun with live performances from The Tap South. Check their Instagram posts for details on performances and parties. It’s a public area in Gouna with plenty of good restaurants.

I rented a small boat, not a yacht, and really enjoyed touring the lagoon. You can also find impressive yachts parked here, and rent one if you want. The Marina itself is a wonderful place to visit or hang out, with lots of cafes and restaurants, and some great villas, homes, and apartments. It’s one of the best marinas in the Middle East. Real estate is expensive, though. Elgouna is still a must-see, and it can make you feel as if you’re somewhere outside Egypt.
