Utopia Blue Resort

We'd stayed at utopia beach club a couple of times, but this was our first visit to utopia blue. We booked it to have our own pool, which utopia blue offers, but ended up at the beach every day and barely used the pool as much as we'd expected. The new hotel is lovely, clean, and well maintained. Whenever something came up, people were kind and glad to help. The pools are cleaned daily, and housekeeping staff are always polite. The food is very nice, although we kept going to utopia beach club for meals because we love the people there and know many of them from earlier visits. Mr. Hamada, Abdou, Ahmad, Abdullah, Mohamed, and so many others are the sweetest people. I stayed with my parents and we all had a great time. People here speak English, German, and even Czech!

For the price, everything was great. The beach is beautiful and well organized, and the staff were both professional and really nice. Guests are encouraged to try different activities, including darts and volleyball, by a great animation team. A couple of things could be better: the alcoholic drinks and the yoga sessions run by the animation team. I'd also like to see plain yogurt added to the lunch and dinner buffet as a dressing option. The stay at Utopia Blue Resort didn't live up to the five-star beachfront standard it advertises, and I left disappointed. The constant pressure to tip was the worst part. From the first day, I felt that almost every staff interaction came with an unspoken expectation of cash. Waiters, bartenders, and housekeeping staff all made it subtly but clearly seem that normal service depended on tipping. I had to keep small cash on me instead of relaxing, and it took away from the holiday. A single, clearly stated service fee at check-in would be fairer and better. The room wasn't properly cleaned when I arrived. There was dust on the furniture, marks in the bathroom and on the floor, and the furnishings looked worn for a hotel claiming five stars. The air conditioning was very noisy, and shower pressure kept changing. Those things aren't acceptable at the level the hotel suggests. Food was another letdown. The main restaurant buffet was monotonous, with much the same dishes each day. There weren't many well-prepared fresh vegetables, the meats were average, and desserts were very basic and low quality. Restaurant service was often slow. Without tipping, it was hard to get the table cleared or drinks refilled promptly. Labels for dishes were also clearly lacking for anyone with allergies or a special diet. The shared areas weren't in good shape either. Many pool sunbeds were broken or heavily worn, and the beach towels looked old and tired. To get a decent spot, you had to reserve one early in the morning, otherwise only the worst places were left. The free Wi-Fi the hotel promotes was weak and unstable in my room. It was only reasonably usable in a few spots in the common areas, which isn't good enough for a resort presenting itself as five-star. Taken together, the cleanliness and service were below what I expected, and the food was average. I wouldn't recommend Utopia Blue Resort to friends, and I don't plan to return.

The location was fantastic, with everything easy to reach while still offering peace and beautiful views. The beach was clean and spacious, and the water was so clear I could see the bottom. Swimming and snorkeling were both great. Our room was modern and cleaned impeccably every day. I appreciated the comfortable mattresses and the big blanket. Service was top-notch wherever we went, whether at reception or in the restaurant. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and ready to assist with a smile. Our stay in Egypt exceeded all expectations, and the beautiful setting, great accommodation, kind service, and clear sea made for a holiday I'll remember and would like to repeat.
