Eye of horus

The place is so peaceful, with unusual views of the Abu Sir pyramids, and it’s well placed for Giza, Saqqara, and Dahshur. I slept wonderfully in the comfortable bed and pillows. Do bring insect repellent, there were quite a lot of mosquitoes at night. I stayed for eight days as part of a group taking a course, so we spent many full days at the hotel. The small team looked after us so lovingly that it felt like being with family. Isam, who’s in charge, is part of our family now. The food was delicious every day and the service was always excellent. And don’t miss the horseback tour by the pyramids, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

The terrace has an amazing view straight over the old pyramids of Sakkara, which are closed to visitors. We enjoyed relaxing there, and the place was quiet, with a pool table by the garden. The boss welcomed us even though we arrived late. Our room was small but clean and comfortable if you like a hard bed. We’d asked for a pyramid-view room, but no two-bed room was available, so we could only see the pyramid through a small window, not from the bed. Breakfast was good, and when we returned from the pyramids of Sakkara, about 30 minutes away by tuktuk, they served fresh dates and tea. I’d recommend staying at least two nights to have enough time to see the area. We only had one day and felt rushed. We’d go back if we could. Choucran! 🙏

The low price comes with a drawback: the hotel is in a remote rural area, far from the pyramids. It’s hard to find an Uber or get food delivered, so you can end up relying on the hotel’s cars and meals.

We found Seror guest house easily, and it was a handy base for visiting Saqqarah. The room was tidy, with AC and a comfortable bed. We were welcomed warmly and shown around, then went on a horseback tour to the Abussir pyramids with the very friendly Ziad. The meal and breakfast were both nice, with a wonderful view. Thank you!
