Khattab pyramids hotel

The staff gave us a warm welcome, and the hotel’s management deserves special thanks. Check-in was quick and easy, and they handled requests promptly. Rooms were very clean, cleaned daily, and the place always smelled fresh. Breakfast had plenty of tasty choices for different preferences. The location is excellent, close to (landmarks/markets), so getting around is easy. I rate it 5/5 and highly recommend it for comfort, good service, and a special atmosphere.

The room was acceptable, but the finishing was poor, especially in the bathroom, and the mirror light was already broken. The shower drained so slowly that water pooled within a minute and took many more minutes to clear. There was no toilet paper or waste bin, and a dirty cup sat by the sink. A kettle and sugar were provided, but no drinking water, tea, or coffee. Wi-Fi was slow and kept cutting out. Renovations were underway without any warning. Most of the work was in the hallway and on the stairs, but there was dirt and noise everywhere. Stairs were the only way to reach the first floor. Breakfast was meant to be from 8 to 10, but after several complaints it arrived at 10 to 9, by which time my driver had already arrived. It felt like the hotel was being run by a group of young people who didn’t know what they were doing. During office hours, some spoke English reasonably well, but outside those hours it became very difficult. Most Google reviews seemed to be from friends and family, all 5s, while guests mostly gave 1s or 2s. I won’t stay here again.

Nearby there’s a supermarket, pharmacy, papa john’s, bank, and ATM, since the street is a main road. We walked around at about 2pm without any trouble. The building entrance might put you off, but once inside, the hotel is one of the best places to stay in Cairo/Giza. Our room was modern and spotless, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The staff were so kind and attentive, always checking we were comfortable, and made us feel like we were staying at a friend’s place. We only had breakfast, and the food was really good.

Don’t book this hotel through Booking.com. They show rooms as available, then when you arrive say there aren’t any and try to send you to a completely different hotel. It’s a total scam. During festival time especially, they seem to be taking advantage of tourists to get more money. Don’t book here.
