Maria Pyramids House

The staff were the best part of my five day stay, always friendly and helpful. I had arranged most of my trip beforehand, though they would have helped me plan if I needed it. They set up airport rides both ways and even helped with my luggage at one in the morning when I had to leave. Traveling alone as a senior, I felt safe and comfortable. The hotel is on the third floor with no elevator, and you can hear traffic, but I took that as part of experiencing Cairo. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and had plenty of storage. It was also very convenient for the pyramids, and breakfast on the roof was very good, with a view of them. This is the best budget accommodation I've stayed in. My main reason for this trip was the Grand Egyptian Museum, which hadn't opened on my last visit in 2023. The visit was thrilling and showed me another side of Egypt. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, and I'm so glad I chose this place. I'd encourage others to venture beyond tours and conventional hotels to experience Egypt's hospitality without spending too much.

We stayed from December 25th to January 1st, over the busy holidays, and the staff still made us feel genuinely welcome. As guests from Russia, we were treated with real warmth, not just as customers. They were always ready to help or give advice, and their smiles made the place feel calm and homey after a hot day. The staff are the main reason I'd recommend this hotel for a Cairo trip. The rooms are simple and clean, with what you need. The morning after we checked in, we found a direct, completely unobstructed view of the Giza plateau and its pyramids from our window. Having breakfast with that panorama was priceless. The price was very reasonable too. The combination of cost, view, cleanliness and kindness was top-notch.

We didn't get a room overlooking the Pyramids, but there was a balcony and rooftop where we could go for nice views. The room needed a bit of maintenance and felt rough around the edges, which is why I'm giving four stars. Mohamed and his team welcomed us warmly and went out of their way to make our time in Cairo a great experience. Some of the best hotel customer service I've received, even after staying in great hotels around the world. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
