I came away feeling misled by the photos and the place's three-star label. The location is set back from the noise, which is a plus, and from the balcony you can see half of Cheops and all of Khafre. But it’s so narrow that only one person can properly face the view at a time. We called it the “Single View.” The building feels like a family home with permanent tenants, not a hotel with a reception. The tenants were loud around 3:00-4:00 AM, shouting and slamming doors with no thought for guests trying to sleep. Cleaning only happened if I found the hostess and asked. They took the dirty towels and full trash bags, but didn’t replace them, so I had to go ask. It even felt as if they had to dig their own old towels out of a cupboard. The room and facilities were rough. The sofa armrest came off, and the bedding was clean enough but old and so bobbled it felt like coarse sandpaper. The bathroom is tiny, you nearly have to stand on the toilet to shower, and the water barely trickles. WiFi worked only now and then. There’s a kettle, but getting more coffee or sugar depends on whether you can find the hostess. We paid for a three-star hotel and got a low-standard guesthouse. I’m giving it two stars only because it was clean when we arrived and because of the view. I can’t recommend it to adult couples wanting a nice vacation. Maybe it suits backpackers or young travelers who are fine with a basic room and just need a shower and mattress, but definitely not for more than $100 a week. The photos had looked like the “gold standard.” All this I didn't know... but!

The host was so kind, speaks perfect english, and had recommendations for the area. The rooms were huge, with a fridge, fan, and hot water, and there were no bugs at all. The rooftop view of the pyramids is amazing. Would definitely recommend!

The owners were very nice, and the rooms were clean.
