The location is the best part. There are other restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and the cafe on the ground floor has tasty food and coffee at reasonable prices. Staff were kind and helpful, and the room was huge. I had one with a sitting room for two, and the door felt strong. It was clean and smelled good, though the furniture and room itself felt dated. The price was great. Breakfast was simple, with no change in the menu, and the Wi-Fi was weak or didn’t work much of the time.

The young receptionist was brilliant when helping us sort out problems with the booking, and on arrival we thought the hotel might be good. The rest of the stay was disappointing. Dinner arrived an hour before the time we’d booked, was brought in from somewhere else, and was cold. The basic room had no TV remote, and although there was a kettle, there were no cups or drinks. It was also very noisy. I can’t recommend it.

The only things I liked were how close it is to the Pyramids and that the hot water came through right away. Otherwise, I wouldn’t come back or recommend the place. I’d give it just 1 star for the facilities and unprofessional staff, despite its higher ratings. Reception didn’t give us useful advice, and we felt judged by how we looked. The room was noisy, with an air conditioner that didn’t work and traffic sounds coming through the single-glazed windows. The TV was broken, and there was no tea or coffee. The bathroom was extremely bad: the shower pane was too small to use. We had to get the room key card activated every time we went out, and sometimes reception activated it incorrectly so we couldn’t open the door. Breakfast came in packed cases instead of a buffet, and all drinks, hot or cold, were served in paper cups. There were no bar facilities, and the sauna didn’t open until 2pm.
