Charbel hotel Apartment

We were two women visiting Egypt for the first time, and we really enjoyed our stay. Tadros was wonderful and made sure we felt safe and that everything was okay. There’s a little store right next to the hotel, and the rooftop view is amazing. The city center and private beach are both about a five-minute walk away.

The staff were great. I booked the most basic room and they upgraded me to one with a balcony, though there are other rooms with better views. The rooftop pool was nice, with six sunbeds, plenty of seating, a few power outlets, and a pretty good view. The apartment itself was workable, but there was no microwave or basic kitchen cleaning stuff like a sponge and soap for the few dishes and pieces of silverware. There is a kettle, and they provide soap and shampoo in the bathroom. In my room, number 21, little puddles of water would appear between the kitchen and bathroom. One thing to keep in mind for winter, it gets cold and there’s no heating. I ended up boiling water 😔 The location is great, three minutes from golds gym, a five to ten minute walk to sheraton, and everything you need is within five minutes on foot. It can be hard to find at first, but once you know the route, it’s easy. Head to golds gym, pass it, then turn right just after. The road is sandy and rough, but that’s the right way. charbel will be on your right in less than two minutes.

Everything was perfect for the price. He gave us a free upgrade for two days, with a balcony, sea view, and so on. Check-in times were pretty good too.

We booked through booking.com and gave advance notice that we’d arrive around 3-4am, in the middle of the night. When we got there, they’d given our room to someone else and said they had no apartments or rooms because we were late. They admitted it was their mistake since I’d shared my flight times in advance. They offered us a different apartment in another run-down building. It wasn’t fully finished and was in poor condition, but they charged the same price as the nice studio we’d booked, with no discount. The apartment and every surface were dirty and sticky. We had little choice at that hour and had to take what was available, so we felt taken advantage of. Be careful booking here, and try not to get scammed like we did.
