SUNRISE Tucana Resort - Posh Club

Sunrise Tucana was calm and comfortable, with lovely rooms, helpful staff and excellent heated pools. It’s a relaxing place to stay, but the food was the weakest part by far and didn’t match the price. Dining is à la carte only, with no open buffet, so there isn’t much variety. The lamb was especially disappointing, with a noticeable smell and unpleasant taste that made it seem poor quality. The steak was inconsistent too. I kept asking for medium, but it came medium-well or well done most of the time, and occasionally medium-rare. Desserts didn’t help: the tiramisu at the Italian restaurant was very poor and nothing like I’d expect from an Italian meal. One separate incident happened at the aquapark at Sunrise Royal Makadi, which Tucana guests can use. My friend was hurt on a slide. The hotel responded responsibly, closing it right away and taking him to the clinic for treatment. The comfort, service and relaxed atmosphere are strong points, but the food needs a serious improvement to justify what the hotel charges.

The sandy beach is lovely, with no stones, and the hotel itself is modern and beautifully designed. The food was delicious and well balanced, and the à la carte setup means the food and drinks are high quality. Service is above average, with dedicated, attentive staff who make you feel welcome every day and even remember guests. The animation schedule is balanced, leaving people in peace at lunchtime. The animators are friendly, speak several languages and connect well with guests. I’d happily recommend the hotel and come back.

It’s a beautiful sandy beach, and the animation team was great. We found the à la carte restaurants wonderful, with outstanding service from staff who were cooperative and helpful. The hotel is peaceful and quiet, and the service overall is excellent. Everyone was lovely, especially Mr. Mahmoud, the reception manager, and Mr.Nasser with the golf cart. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed, highly recommended.

The pool and beach areas were clean and pleasant places to relax, and the bars made very good mixed drinks. Most staff were friendly and accommodating, though I should mention that a few people, especially at some restaurants and bars, seemed a bit cold or distracted. That was rare. It was a relaxed, thoughtfully arranged stay. I’d recommend the resort for a peaceful getaway.
