The Breakers Diving and Surfing Lodge

As a solo traveller, I had a really good time at The Breakers. There’s plenty to do, from snorkelling and diving to kitesurfing, massages, yoga and the gym. The food was quite good, though vegan choices were limited. My room was simple but nice and very clean, and I enjoyed the hotel as a whole. The staff were generally very friendly. I did find it a little strange at first as a woman travelling alone that all the staff working there were men, probably for cultural reasons. I’ll likely come back to get away from the cold German winter :)

The atmosphere is so relaxed, with lots of divers and kitesurfers around. It’s quiet, without kids running about or parties going on late into the night, which makes it a lovely place to unwind. The food is great and changes every day, and the rooms are just right, with a stunning Red Sea view. Try for a first or second floor room facing the jetty, so you can lounge in the hammock on the terrace and watch the water. The team at the hotel and Orca diving center are incredibly kind and helpful. It’s always great to return, and I’ll be back again 😉

As usual, a wonderful stay, and the food seemed better than ever. Diving is arranged very efficiently, so you can make the most of it. One thing to keep in mind: the guides can move quickly and leave you behind, so I’d suggest diving with a buddy and taking things at your own pace.

There are so many inviting spots to relax, from the different roof terraces to the beach and pool areas. The hotel is beautiful and just the right size, so it feels like home. We loved the food, and the staff were lovely and friendly. The watersports options are great too. We had a fantastic time and are definitely planning to return!
