Farida Apartments

We had a clean, well-equipped two-bedroom apartment with two balconies and a view of the Thebes hills. There were plenty of shops and places to eat nearby, and the ferry to Luxor was a five-minute walk. Taxis were easy to find, too. The local people were lovely and, even with few tourists around, caused almost no hassle. We stayed in November 2018 and really enjoyed it.

The shopkeepers nearby were honest and charged fair local prices for fruit, vegetables, and pastries. We even got fresh falafel balls and local bread for one Egyptian pound each. This was our best place in Egypt so far. The apartment was spacious and clean, and ours had two balconies overlooking a garden, the village, and fields. The location by a tiny dirt street might put you off, but it’s actually handy for the ferry, small local shops, and restaurants. The owner was attentive, calling to check that everything was okay and following up afterward to make sure our needs were met.

The owner and staff were really nice and helpful. It’s a clean place with a great view from the balcony. The location isn’t the best, though it’s still good, with easy access to nearby places or a boat ride to the East Bank.

Beautiful, clean apartment, fully furnished, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom door wouldn’t lock, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work on our first day, but everything was fine after that. The owner was helpful.
