Pickalbatros Oasis Hotel - Port Ghalib

The hotel was beautiful and spotless, but the employees really made our stay. Shawkey was especially kind. He always remembered to bring my son his favorite juice, and my son absolutely loves him. Thank you, Shawkey!

We had a nice vacation and left satisfied. The kids' club staff were friendly and accommodating, and the activities there were very good, though the club itself needs some renovation. It could use play equipment in the sand, and the shade cover is in poor shape. The staff throughout the hotel were always friendly, even when people asked some interesting questions. One downside is that you can't eat at all of the restaurants, and the wristbands come in different colors. The activities team can also be pretty intrusive, which gets annoying. The diving tour wasn't anything special either.

Getting a place by the pool can be a hassle. People leave towels on seats and then don't come back for most of the day, so more than half the loungers can look reserved while sitting empty. You end up walking around to find somewhere to lie down. Otherwise, the hotel is wonderful: very clean, nicely designed, and the service is helpful. The towel reservation rule just isn't enforced well.

We enjoyed the holiday, though we had expected more. The room was the biggest issue. Our agency booked a standard room for our family of four, and it was meant for two. They opened the couch and added another bed, leaving us with almost no space. The bathroom door was like a saloon door, with gaps of about half a meter at the top and bottom. There was no privacy at all, and it felt as if the toilet was right beside the bed. You could hear and smell everything when someone used it. There was no bidet either. I've never seen anything like it. Bedouins in the desert surely live in better conditions.
