We visited in April 2025 and really loved Wadi Sabarah. The house reef is a wonderful gift, with easy access to some of the world’s best dive sites. The resident moray eel deserves a mention, as does the Eco Center, Red Sea Project, which is doing great work in education and marine conservation. The botanical gardens feature native and medicinal plants, some used in the soaps and shampoos, and the place often pays thoughtful tribute to the land, its history, and its people. The architecture is beautiful and blends into the landscape respectfully, and we were very happy with our room and the facilities. The library was a huge highlight, spectacularly decorated and filled with books, objects, and prints about the surrounding deserts and the tribes who live there. Below the main building, the museum has another collection of regional and nomadic objects, including dresses, adornments, and camel saddles. There are likely very, very few collections like it. Wadi Sabarah takes its name from a fascinating woman, a Bedouin ascetic and healer, and that says a lot about the place’s spirit and ethos. It’s more than accommodation. It can get very hot in summer, so keep that in mind if you don’t tolerate heat well. The location is fairly remote, so bring what you need, though staff will help if anything comes up. It’s meant to bring you closer to nature, so if you want a run-of-the-mill beach hotel stay, you’re probably better off elsewhere.

The nearby reef was amazing and made for beautiful, rewarding dives. We went with Emperor Diving Center, whose friendly, helpful team was highly professional and organized shore and boat dives with dive masters. If you don’t dive, their sister company, Emperor Adventure, offers hikes in the Red Land and chances to discover local desert tribes. The lodge itself is quiet and intended for adults looking for rest and meaningful experiences. It’s a good place to relax, dive in the Red Sea, and get away from daily life. The restaurant serves very good food made with fresh ingredients, including typical Egyptian dishes, and the service felt genuinely caring. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. One downside was the filtered water in the rooms, which cost €1 per person per day and could have been better quality. The beautiful library has traditional Egyptian and tribal objects, along with an impressive collection of art and science books. Each evening before dinner there are interesting presentations about Red Sea marine life and the surrounding desert, adding a cultural and educational aspect to the stay. I’d recommend Wadi Sabarah to anyone after tranquility, nature, and high-quality diving in a unique setting. It feels very different from the surrounding resorts.

We felt so comfortable here that we extended our visit several times. Service was consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. The general manager was extremely welcoming, and the Food & Beverage Manager stood out for being well organized and personal, making dining especially enjoyable. The pool area is very nice, and the beachfront location is a real highlight. Snorkeling directly in front of the hotel let us explore a beautiful coral reef. A great hotel with excellent service and a perfect location. We’d happily return.

The garden at Wadi Sabarah was beautiful, especially the lotus pond and paths among the trees when it was too cold to swim. We also enjoyed the library books and the quiet pool, and the general manager’s warm company added to the peaceful atmosphere. There was a service issue with a nature tour: we were quoted 3 hours for 55, but it lasted only about 2 hours and we were charged more at the end. That’s why I’m giving service 4 stars. A lovely, tranquil place, though service details could be clearer.

The Astro Tour with Dr Diaa was amazing, and I highly recommend guests try it. Poolside was very relaxing, with an amazing view, and Wadi Sabarah is a beautiful, quiet place offering different experiences from many others nearby. Restaurant staff were professional and accommodating, taking good care of guests. They serve a fixed menu, but it felt varied enough, and they adapted it for our vegan requests. From my own experience, our room could use some maintenance and more attention to detail. A few small things looked like they needed deep cleaning or fixing or replacing, though they didn’t really affect our stay overall.
