Sunny Days Mirette Family Resort

I was nervous after seeing some bad reviews, but everyone in our group would come again. The snorkeling at the far end of the resort was one of the best things I’ve ever experienced. It was my first time in Egypt, and the culture felt very different at first, but once you get your head around it, it’s easy enough to cope with. I’d recommend this as a holiday with good value for money. Thanks, sunny days xx The team were very attentive, and reception called every day to check in. Fruit was delivered to the room if you’re in during the day. Some minor repairs are needed, but they didn’t affect my stay, and I can’t imagine how they keep up with everything. My room was cleaned well every day. There was always something to eat, and we tried all the restaurants. They were all fine.

From check-in to departure, the whole team was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Atef cleaned our room every day and always added a personal touch, and Mr. Hamdy, the head of housekeeping, also deserves thanks. The gentleman at the breakfast bar was especially kind and friendly. Thanks to everyone across reception, the restaurant, and housekeeping. The whole team was amazing!

We stayed for 3 nights as a group of 8, and left very disappointed, especially for the price and what we expected. It was advertised as all-inclusive, but it didn’t feel that way. Wine cost extra at €3 per glass, drinks came in plastic cups, the coffee was poor, and the only place we could get bottled water was from the room cleaner. None of us enjoyed the experience, and we wouldn’t recommend the hotel. The warm pool kept the kids entertained for two nights. We could also see a shipwreck about 60 meters from shore, though in January the sea was too cold to swim that far out.

The location is very good, and the beach and pool area were clean and in good condition. Food was good, though not amazing, and employees were very nice apart from reception. At check-in, late at night, the receptionist said we owed 90 euros, even though we had booked through a travel agency. We refused, and he said he would check, but we never heard back. At checkout, the “manager” demanded payment of 200 dollars for the Christmas dinner, which was mediocre and included in our package activities. He threatened us, so I called our travel guide urgently. The guide dealt with them by phone, and we were able to leave without a problem. This was the second time reception tried to scam us, and it was unacceptable. The bedroom wasn’t up to 4 stars. Mosquitoes came in every night through the gap by the window door. The bathroom needs renovating, and the bathtub was too small.
