Nile Transport Hotel

The two women at the front desk were a real highlight. They were warm and attentive, always checking that things were going well, and their professionalism made me feel at home. Over my 11 days there, the rooms were spotless each day, the views were lovely, and the atmosphere stayed calm and comfortable. I had no problems at all and would gladly return. It’s a clean, friendly, well-run hotel.

Esma at reception was lovely, always smiling and taking such good care of us. The staff were sincere and attentive, and the room was clean. The hotel is close to the Nile, and breakfast is included with a range of choices. We’d looked at several hotels and had to leave the first one we chose, then came to The Nile transport hotel as our second option. We ended up thinking we should have stayed here from the beginning. Thanks to Esma and everyone for the care.

The Nile view from our ground-floor room was quite beautiful, but that was about the only good thing. The room was old and really unclean, and I even caught a cockroach. There’s nothing around the hotel either. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The room makes a big difference here: I stayed in both types on one trip, and the newly renovated Superior room was fantastic, while the old room was a terrible experience. Breakfast was very basic for a hotel that isn’t exactly cheap. The Nile view is there, but the river runs all the way from Cairo to Aswan, and this hotel is quite far from downtown and Zemalek. Its location means the price is 30 to 50% lower than comparable downtown hotels, though the breakfast spread is basic too.
