The people were very nice, but that was about the only thing I liked. I was here on a work trip after being told it was the best place in the area. The hotel feels really dated, and the layout is strange. My room was just okay, though it reminded me of a run-down Motel 6. The bathroom creeped me out, so I tried to spend as little time in the room as possible and get through a shower in five minutes. I didn't like the food either. I only tried the pizza, and it was just okay. I was glad when my stay was over.

The Piano Bar is worth a mention, with nice music, sometimes live, and a good range of drinks. There are three bars to choose from, plus a restaurant, and the rooms were clean with hot water. The staff were very friendly, and by Asmara and Eritrea standards, this is a great hotel. Service can take a while, breakfast choices are limited, and the internet is painfully slow. To be fair, I heard it's like that throughout Asmara. By European standards, I'd give it no more than two stars.

Friendly staff, but the facilities are only average and the rooms need freshening up. For Asmara too, I'd say this hotel is below average.

I couldn't get my money back, so be careful. I booked online through hotels.com, but at check-in they said they didn't recognize online bookings. The booking was non-refundable, and the website wouldn't refund me either. Avoid.

For under $65, this is a great option. The room is spacious with a double bed, and there's internet and breakfast. Power is available around the clock, with a generator.
