La Casita de las Mariposas

The house was spotless, roomy, and comfortable, with a cozy feel alongside modern touches. Its location between Malaga and Granada made it easy to visit both while enjoying the quiet countryside. Nights were wonderfully peaceful, with animal sounds all around, and the greenery and rural setting were lovely. The village’s history made the stay feel special. A quick Google search for El Acebuchal brings up its fascinating story. The owners were so kind and welcoming, and Antonio's little shop was a gem, with local produce, homemade meats and cheeses, souvenirs, delicious goat's cheese and jams, and tiny avocados. We also loved the nearby restaurant. The vegetarian meal included patatas a lo pobre, fried peppers, house salad, and freshly baked bread. Breakfast there was just as good, with that same bread, eggs, avocado, tomato, and coffee. The service was lovely, and the property was well managed with the amenities we needed. We’re already looking forward to returning. Highly recommended!

A neighborhood cat came by every day and kept us company. The villa was great, with beautiful views, a super cozy feel, and lovely outdoor spaces.

The bar next to El Acebuchal is a real highlight, with caring, friendly, attentive staff and generous, delicious food. We started with bread and olive oil, then tried different meats and finished with desserts. The house is well set up for a few days away, even in cold weather, with heating in every room, Wi-Fi, a pool, and more. A great place to unwind. We’d happily come back with family and friends.

The village is charming, with lovely houses, but take care on the way in: the access road is unpaved, and there’s no cell phone service.
